Library services for blind and partially sighted members
In order to provide equal access to written knowledge, an electronic magnifying glass was acquired for the partially sighted users. The purchase of the electronic magnifier was secured thanks to the funds collected through the humanitarian action “With a Book to Health”, which took place during the BOOKtiga festival in 2013.
MagniLink Mira magnifier has a built-in 18.5 “LCD monitor and a built-in autofocus camera. With this magnifier, users can read daily newspapers, magazines, and books. Educated librarians with a sensitized attitude for people with reading and writing difficulties are provided with a collection of “easy-to-read materials” that enables students with dyslexia to read while sound books offer an insight for blind and partially sighted members.
